Who we are

Kalaiselvi Karunalaya Social Welfare Society (KKSS) is a registered Society working for the betterment of the underprivileged, downtrodden, and marginalized communities in rural and urban Tamil Nadu.

Since 1983, we have sought to transform society, bringing about equality and justice. 

The people we help

Amongst the poorest of the poor, we focus on:

• Children: We make communities conscious about a child’s right to a home and to an education. We take in neglected children and nurture them till we can find them a home. 
• Women: We counsel and provide temporary shelter to women in distress and help rehabilitate them. We empower women by educating and training them, creating opportunities for employment and trade, and forming self-help groups. 
• Drug addicts and alcoholics: We help them recover from their addictions and spread awareness in communities about the evils of addiction to drugs and alcohol. 
• The elderly: We take care of them if they are neglected, sheltering them in our day care centres and special homes.

Our future plans

Having achieved some success in rescuing orphaned children and bringing relief to marginalized communities in the state, we would like to increase the reach of our operation to include other parts of the country. 

In doing so, we could help bring about an egalitarian society, ensuring education to all children and equal opportunities to all men and women from various walks of life.
